After graduating from university, she returned to Izmir. She started to work as an intensive care nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kent Hospital. She gave lectures at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Midwifery. While supporting the internships, she worked as a midwife at the Private Ege Health Hospital Gynecology Service.

In addition to midwifery service during the births she attended, she also provided birth support by applying non-drug and complementary medicine techniques to relieve the mother. She counseled all the families she gave birth to on breastfeeding and baby care. While continuing her midwifery service, she started giving prenatal preparation trainings and organizing home visits to pregnant women in the hospital where she worked.

Midwife Gözde Çavuş, who met the Istanbul Birth Academy in 2009 when she was a student, was constantly working to make such an attempt in Izmir. Each of the hundreds of births she entered was different. Some of them are fearful, some are enthusiastic… All they wanted was births that were respectful to parents, babies and births, regardless of the type of birth. The step taken in the process of becoming a family was not supposed to be fearful, painful or anxious. The moment of meeting the baby had to be eagerly awaited, prepared, and welcomed. He struggled for this for years and eventually resigned from the hospital where he worked and decided to found Ebehane. Midwife Gözde Çavuş is the “FIRST” Freelance Midwife who established such a center.
